  1. Only two boats out with us today the Lund and another white one which appeared to be a walk around. I suppose that was you. I was surprised to see so little traffic. I suppose most were out chasing horns. Had plenty of hooks today but nothing like the last few weeks. Perhaps the last time out for us.

  2. Ten Percent, i am not sure how seasoned I am but this is my opinion none the less. I am not of the mindset that you need to spend a ton of money on trolling gear. Sure I have overspent on my favorite spinning, baitcasting or mooching setups, YES! Don't tell my wife. I have gotten by very nicely on Okuma Convectors. They are reasonably priced with some nice deals eBay or Amazon. I have put them through a lot and the just keep ticking. They are smooth with decent drags and the line counters on more than the dozen I have are still operational after 5-10 years of use(abuse). I use them for everything from leadcore, dispy, to braid for bottom bouncing. Sure I would like a while battery of Tekotas or better, I just don't see the need as a recreational angler. Perhaps my opinion would change if I was running a charter service.

  3. I hear you garrymny. Was out this Monday and marked what seemed liked thousands. Same today but I ran a little different program and smoked them. Got our limit in 1.5hrs. Alewife spoons with meat on dipsy 200 hundred back did 90% of the work for us. Couldn't keep the dipsy's in the water.

  4. I've been using Michigan Stingers and swapping out the treble for a couple snelled hooks with beads. They have a rainbow trout pattern that has been working well for me. Spoons have been slow for me until I started swapping and hanging meat.

  5. Was out on Monday Seamaster from SP. Have been doing pretty well a mile to a mile and a half from the fence off evangola in 70-75fow. for the past couple weeks. Marked a bunch from 55-65fow. Pink rats have been doing the most work, however when it clouded up on Monday I switched silver and blue shallow divers on 10 color and they picked up a bit. I took 8 nice eaters on Monday. Probably could of done better if I ran some meat but didn't feel like dealing with the mess. I hear they are still down my well out of Dunkirk too. Hope this helps. Good Fishing!!
