  1. I purchased a new boat at the beginning of last year and it came with two Smooth Move suspensions for the driver and passenger. The back seats did not have it.

Fished one season and loved them so much that I had one installed on the back seat. I remove one seat to give me more room so that is why I only did one of the rear seats. Cannot say enough about them. I have a StarCraft Fishmaster. Love these seats, not sure where you are from but if interested I can give you the details. Happy to share.

  2. Saturday morning trailers were lined up out of the lot and down the road at 6:15. Had to be way over a hundred boats off the Catt. Not all of them launched at Hanover I’m sure.

    We got 22 from 7:15 to 11:30.

Sticks on ten color cores did best. Seven color worked for the first couple of hours. Renosky in rainbow trout did the best by far.

Worm burners (purple and pink) and spoons (green alewife) on riggers down 55 to 65 did well.

Wire divers with worm burners took a couple but that was it.

Fished 75 to 90 fow to the west most of the morning. I stayed away from the fleet as I was not going to combat troll. Eight rod spread was about all we wanted at times.

For my particular spread we kept our speed a little slower than we normally fish, around 1.8 to 2.0 at the ball and it was working.

We also lost a handful and threw back some shorts. Not one junk fish.

Good luck, hope you crush em!!

  3. Fished 70 fow between Sturgeon and the Catt today, first line at 6:40 and quit around 12:30. Never moved a rod until 8:30 and we ended up 11 for 13, lost two right at back of boat. Also caught one steelhead when I wasn’t paying attention to Fish Hawk and we had our spoons in a pocket of cold water.

Ran two wire divers with harnesses near bottom and got 1 on a watermelon harness.

Had 8-9-10 color cores with sticks on inlines. The nine and tens caught 4 with Bay Rat sticks.

Riggers with spoons parked at 65 and 70 feet over 72 fow got the other 6 plus the two we lost. Alewife SS was the MVP for sure.

Speed was 1.8 to 2.2 at the ball. Most fish were in the 5 pound (ish) range.

Good luck to those going out.

  4. Yeah, it was there for sure.

We ran the same program today that we did yesterday, all sticks on longer cores, riggers and dipseys. Pink sticks were by far the MVPs of the day. Rough going getting out with the rollers so we spent the time to chug down toward Dunkirk and put waves at our back. Glad we did, started at 8 and done by 11:00 just about in front of the Catt. We had a fairly smooth troll for the day.

    All sticks.
    Speed was 2.0 to 2.2.
Depth was 40 to 70 down over 75 to 85 fow.

  5. Fished west of the Catt - would have been a shorter run from Dunkirk actually. Got our 18 fish limit in two and a half hours plus some throw backs we got while clearing rods. All on sticks, Bay Rats and Renoskys. Color didn’t matter. Fished from 75 to 90 fow primarily 40 to 60 down. Speed was 2.0 to 2.2 at the ball.

    Here is what we used:
    10 color
    9 color
    8 color
    8 color
2 - riggers at 62’ down with sticks caught 6
    2 - dioseys, one set at 2 back150’ and one at 1 1/2 back 130’. Dipseys caught 4 fish.
    Leadcore caught the rest.

Great temp break down around 55 to 65 feet. When we hit that 60 degree water it was on.

Back at it tomorrow if weather holds. Tight lines all.

  6. I usually let all the lead then 10 passes across the reel of Power Pro backing. Then the board gets put on and out she goes.

Had another awesome day today west of the Catt. 4 people and we were done in 4 hours. Back in time to listen/watch Bills win. Watermelon harnesses on dipseys out 165 on a 2 setting and 195 on a three setting we’re absolutely crazy. Did get 6 on riggers with sticks and 3 on a ten color core with a stick. The rest came on wire divers. Great day all the way around.

  7. Fished this morning for 3 and half hours, ended with our limit. Mix of sticks and harnesses. Sticks out fished harnesses. Dipsey, riggers and 10 colors. We were just a bit west in 75 to 80 fow. All the fish we caught were 60’ down. Most all of the fish we marked were the same, 60’ down. Nice weather, calm lake and good fishing. Lake was starting to build when we finished up around 1230 or so.

  8. Cool..thanks..you guys like that station? Should you have your own extension cord for electric knife? And cutting board? I remember using the one at SBH last year and was glad we just happened to have an extension cord w us

I really do. It’s just a short ride up the creek to get to lake. There is a bathroom that’s open at 5:30 AM most days (I fish with my wife a lot and she likes that part). The cleaning station is included in the price of the launch. You do need to bring your own stuff like bags, knives, etc. Plugs are handy for electric knives. It’s great.

  9. Fished the Catt today, limited out in about two and a half hours (3 people). Mix of harnesses and sticks. 55’ and 60’ riggers did well with a Clown Renosky and an orange copper harness. Cores in 5–6-7-8-9 all took fish. Half with harnesses and half with sticks. Fished 80 to 90 fow a few miles west. Everybody cleaning did the same.

Crazy sight when we left the creek, boat beached on rocks. I hope nobody was hurt or killed. Terrible sight, I heard it happened last night at 2:30 AM but that was not from an official source.

  10. Very easy limits of eyes in Dunkirk. We took my niece and brother this morning. 4 person limit in three and half hours. Threw back a few bigger ones as well. All stick baits, two riggers and six leadcore between three and eight colors. Five to seven were by far the best. Eight rods and that’s all I could keep up with at times. At one point we had six fish on and landed them all. Couple bonus Lakers Too.

I started west in 65 fow around the two water towers near Van Buren. Unfortunately when the wind kicked up we kept trolling west and ended up down about 11 miles. Long chug back. In my 20’ boat, I just can’t control speed pounding into them. Color didn’t seem to matter today, purple, fire tiger, blue, naturals, perch, clown. They all caught. Interestingly enough I didn’t catch anything on riggers with spoons, put a couple sticks on them and we caught 4 or 5 on them after that. I run Renosky and Bay Rats primarily. 11. Another nice day out of Buffalo. We started in 50 fow this morning around 7:00 and caught 13 by around 10:00. If we would have got the fish we lost we would have been done before 9:30. Lost about five fish this morning early, not sure why. I All sticks, Bay Ray and Renowski. Purple and fire tiger were the best. Picked up three off the rigger and leadcore did the rest.

Decent eater sized fish - not too big, not too small.
