DESCRIPTION:\n	\n Welcome to the Greater Niagara Fishing &amp\; Outdoor
	 Expo\n	\n\n\n\n	\n This \"pure\" fishing show is designed by fishermen f
or fishermen with the simple goals of promoting and teaching fishing. Now
in its 8th year\, it has become a \"can't miss\" annual event for thousand
s of anglers every year with over 70 percent of them being prior show atte
ndees and attending for multiple days of the Show. With over 170 booths\,
containing many well-known names and leading companies of \"sportfishing\"
related products\, this is the largest freshwater fishing show in NYS and
among the largest fishing shows anywhere in the Great Lakes. From walleye
and bass to salmon and trout\; from perch to piers\, stream casters to tr
olling nuts\; from fly fishing to youth fishing\; from marine electronics
to boat rigging\; from fishing boats to kayak fishing - there is a little
bit if everything for every type of angler and level of expertise.\n\n \n
\n \n\n \"Teaching Fishing\" is what this show was built around and what
makes it unique. The show facility - the Conference and Event Center Niag
ara Falls - provides a spacious Exhibitor Event Center as well as a multit
ude of seminar rooms all utilizing \"State of the Art\" technology. The sh

ifferent education areas in the building\, including the Hawg Trough - eac
h targeting different topics / levels of expertise. The 2020 show offered
attendees the opportunity to learn from over 200 free classes over the 4 d
ays of the Show with the average attendee taking advantage of the opportun
ity to increase their fishing knowledge by attending over 7 classes during
the show. The core belief of the show is that it is making a difference t
oward the effort to grow the sport of fishing by providing a vast amount o
f fishing education. By providing this education\, this show will recruit
new anglers including the next generation to the sport as well as providin
g existing anglers the fishing knowledge to increase their enjoyment of th
e time they spend on the water by being more successful.\n\n \n\n The Sh
ow is centrally located within one of the most diverse and spectacular fre
shwater sport fisheries on the planet. The Niagara River\, Lake Ontario an
d Lake Erie are all within casting distance for salmon\, trout\, bass\, wa

DESCRIPTION:\n\n	\n \n Southtowns Walleye Association Annual Tourname
	nt\n \n\n \n Click Here to Visit Our Tournament Sponsors\n \n\n \n
	\n			 \n \n\n \n 2018 Tournament News\n \n\n \n The Official Sout
htowns Walleye Association Tournament Dates are June 9th through 17th\, 20
18\n \n\n \n It has come to the attention of the Tournament Committee
that there have been many questions and rumors regarding the upcoming 2018
tournament and the changes that have been implemented this year.\n\n \n
\n This article will answer many of these questions that you may have. F
irstly we will list the changes and or improvements that have been made an
d then explain them in detail below.\n\n \n\n Changes and or improveme
	nts made in 2018 versus 2017:\n \n\n \n 1st - Increased the tournament
entry fee by $15.00 (Change)\n\n 2nd - Increased Cash Payouts by 68 per
	cent (Improvement)\n\n 3rd - Weigh station locations (Change)\n\n 4th
	- Existing Calcutta and the addition of a new Calcutta (Change/Improvement
	)\n\n 5th - Corporate Days (Change)\n \n\n \n \n The $15.00 incre
ase in the tournament fee. Why was this implemented? The tournament commit
tee wanted to increase the payouts to participants versus the payouts that
had been in place for years\, this small increase and sponsor monies we o
btained were able to make this happen and quite substantially. We know you
feel $15.00 dollars is a big jump\, but when you look below and see the i
ncreases that your money went towards\, we didn't increase it by that much
to hit these prize values and it is still less than the price of 2 lures.
\n\n				 \n \n \n We have had a 68% increase in the total cash pay
outs for 2018\, this in itself is a great improvement over previous tourna
ments\, and as you can see we increased them all substantially through all
	 places\, not just the top end.\n\n				 \n \n \n\n \n New 2018 Payo
	ut Structure                  2017 Payout Structure\n \n\n \n
		1st- $6500.00                                       1s
	t-- $5000.00\n\n 2nd - $4000.00
	                 2nd - $3000.00\n\n 3rd - $2000.00
	                                     3rd - $1000.00\n\n
				4th - $1600.00
	 4th-10th - $ 500.00\n\n 5th - $1500.00
	                      11th - 50th - $100.00\n\n 6th - $1
	400.00                                       51st -200t
	h - $ 50.00\n\n 7th - $1300.00\n\n 8th - $1200.00\n\n 9th - $1100.0
	0\n\n 10th - $1000.00\n\n 11th - 15th - $500.00\n\n 16th- 200th - $1
00.00\n\n \n\n This gives you a side by side comparison of this year
	’s payouts and last year’s payouts\, not bad.\n \n\n \n \n Weig
h stations location changes. After looking at the number of fish brought i
n at each station in previous years and the number of people required to m
an each location we have decided to close the Small Boat Harbor and Sturge
on Point weigh stations and in doing so we will be opening the Southtowns
Walleye Clubhouse as a weigh station\, which will be open from 2pm until 8
pm every day. This was done in order to get people out fishing the tournam
ent more often\, for example after work or school and still be able to wei
gh in your catch without having to wait until the following day.\n\n \n
\n We will still be keeping Barcelona and Cattaraugus Creek weigh stati
ons open\, but we are changing the hours from 2pm to 5pm daily. These new
hours will let our volunteers be able to fish longer each day and not have
to get in as early to get to the stations and setup. Also\, we are workin
g on opening a Dunkirk weigh station\, but are still in the process of fin
alizing the details\, and we will keep you posted as soon as we receive co
	nfirmation.\n\n				 \n \n \n Calcutta's. Another change and improv
ement will be on the 3 day Calcutta\, We will be adding the last Sunday of
the tournament onto this Calcutta and the price will increase from $30.00
to $40.00. This Calcutta will still continue to pay the top 3 heaviest wa
lleyes for each day on Sat. June 9th\, Sun. June 10th\, Sat. June 16th and
Sun. June 17th. This Calcutta will continue to be a 90% payout and is spo
nsored by C. Guenther Deck Restorations.\n\n \n\n The next improveme
nt is the addition of the 9 day\, 100% payout Calcutta sponsored by Curly'
s Grill and Banquet Center on Ridge Rd.\, Lackawanna N.Y. This Calcutta wi
ll cost $100.00 and will run for the full 9 days of the tournament and as
mentioned above this is a 100 percent payout.\n\n \n\n This Calcutta
will pay the top 5 heaviest Walleyes of the 9 days of the tournament. (NO
T 5 PER DAY). You will also be able to enter more than 1 walleye in this
Calcutta (Example: If you enter the 1st heaviest walleye on one day and sa
y the 5th heaviest on a preceding day\, you will win both payouts). This C
alcutta has the potential to payout more than the main tournament\, with t
he possibility for you to go home with over $10\,000 in cash. Why? Because
you are just as lucky as the next guy\, and all it takes is that One Fish
. So get in on the Calcutta’s today. You too can Be In It to Win It.\n\n
\n \n \n Corporate Days - Let me start out by saying there wi
ll be 2 corporate sponsors each day this year\, however the change comes f
rom this - You will know all of the sponsors\, but you will not know what
day they will be sponsoring until the close of the tournament on Sunday Ju
ne 17th. The sponsor names will be randomly drawn and placed on a day duri
ng the picnic\, so it will be important this year to make sure you mark do
wn sponsor product that you used on your weigh slips accordingly.\n \n
\n\n \n \n\n So there you have it\, these are the current changes and
improvements we have made to the 34th Annual Southtowns Walleye Tournamen
t 2018 our general rules have stayed the same except for a few word clarif
ications. We will keep you updated on the progress of the tournament plans
through our monthly publication the FishLine\, website (www.southtownswal
leye.org) and Facebook page along with our general membership meetings.\n\
n \n\n Also we would like to inform all of our members and non-members
that we are now able to accept credit cards at the club and pay-pal on ou
r website for membership and tournament sign-ups\, so don’t delay on get
ting in for those early bird prizes.\n \n\n \n Thank You to our Tourna
ment Committee for all of their hard work and dedication so far to making
	this an Epic Tournament.\n \n\n \n Rob Kroh\n\n Tournament Chairman\

DESCRIPTION:\n\n	Southtowns Walleye Association Annual Tournament\n\n\n\
n	The 32nd annual Southtowns Walleye Tournament has come and gone. I would
like to thank everyone who served on the tournament committee as well as
those who volunteered to man the weigh stations and the runners who picked
up the slips &amp\; delivered them to the club.\n\n\n	A huge special than
ks to Randy Scott and Brian &amp\; Amy Plecas. The three of you were indis
pensable to me this year. We all worked very hard to put on a quality tour
nament this year for our club members We hope everyone was satisfied  wit
h the tournament.\n\n\n	Planning for next years tournament will start next
month and we could use more help on the tournament committee. Anyone is w
elcome to attend .Last but not least thanks to all who entered this years
tournament and please talk to your fishing friends &amp\;relatives about f
ishing in next years contest.\n\n\n\n	2017 Tournament News\n\n\n\n	The tou
rnament dates are Saturday June 10th thru Sunday June18th 2017.\n\nRegiste
r Online\n\n\n\n	  I'm very happy to announce a new corporate sponsor for
the tournament. Tran Pro will be donating to the tournament two kicker mo
tor mounting systems. One will be raffled off and the other will be a priz
e for the heaviest walleye caught on Tran Pro day which is yet to be deter
mined. Please help the tournament committee by signing up as early as poss
ible for the tournament. Also please sign up to man a weigh station. We ca
n't have a tournament without volunteers to weigh in the fish. It's only t
hree hours long 1-4pm each day. Just signing up for one day would help us
out a lot.\n\n\n	  I have received a few questions about the Calcutta. He
re are the basics\, the Calcutta runs three days during the tournament\, S
	at-June 10th\, Sun-June 11th &amp\; Sat-June 17th. Everyone on your boat d
oes not have to be entered in the Calcutta\, however you can only enter a
fish that you caught if you are entered in the Calcutta. The cost is $30 f
or the three days. The top four fish caught each day will get cash prizes
which is determined by a percentage of total of the total Calcutta fees re
ceived. Last year first place each day paid out $1200.00. Complete rules a
re in the tournament book which will be out in April. If you enter a fish
in the Calcutta you must fill out a separate Calcutta weigh slip. You must
ask the weigh station attendant for the slip.\n\n\n\n	  If you have any
questions about the weigh stations ask myself or Don Mullen at the next me
eting or call me at 716-462-9576.\n\n\n	Tournament Chairs:\n\n	Bob Fessler
